SMS Auto Fabrics Canby Oregon

Has anyone used SMS Auto Fabrics for there door panels or replacement fabric. I have an order in for new door panels they have had for 8 months. They charged my card right away and I still can't get an answer on when they will have my panels ready. They always say they will call back but then never do. So far I am very disappointed.

Any feedback or encouragement would be helpful.

My friend used SMS for door panels for his 62 Cutlass convertible. His came out very nicely. They are all custom made, so yes they are expensive and take a long time to finish.

I've sent my '55 panels to them (waiting) - did a set for a friend's '58 and they're beautiful - they have you by the 'short & curleys' because no one else has or does what they do. Communication is lax but what I know of them they are unmatched in quality - I was told 9-12 months.

I did just get my first call back today. I was told they will ship to me on Tuesday the 12th. I should get them by the 18th. I will post pictures of the panels when they come in.

Thanks for the feedback.

I used them. Sent my panels in in Oct, got ém back in January. Knew that ahead of time and kept in constant communication with them by email every month to keep them on track to meet the promised delivery date. Nice folk, and well worth the wait!

Mr. Yaros; Could you tell me how you constructed the packaging of your door panels for shipping as too much package material really adds to the cost of shipping, but at the same time I want to have them protected 'cause I'm getting really close to having my interior done. Thx....

Packing

I wrapped each panel in bubble wrap and put them all in 1 30x36x12 inch box.

Shippping was not cheap! I went to the UPS Store and purchased a box used to ship bicycles. I believe the box alone cost me $18. I then trimmed it down a bit in an effort to save on wt./cost. The panels were padded with paper stuffing as I recall. I had UPS do the shipping. Believe shipping charges were $45? So, I had nearly $65 in packaging and shipping to get my panels to OR!
