I recently purchased the Season 3 DVD set of The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. This was their last season before they were yanked off the air by CBS for being too political.

Anyways, I was currently watching the 2nd episode on Disc 1, which I believe aired Dec. 8, 1968, featuring Bob Newhart and The First Edition (featuring a very young non-all gray Kenny Rogers.)

In it, Dick Smothers discusses how he spent the summer drag racing, and actually show a good clip of his first run in his 1968 442. 12.7 second pass. Pretty cool.
