i personally dont like tint on classic muscle cars. on my G-Bodies its a must. Typically my windows are never up on my 70 GS anyway. if its raining or cold the car is in the garage. its rare that its so hot that have to have the windows up and the AC on. plus the car is Red with a white top and white interior. tint would kill my look.

worse case scenario is you dont like it and take it off.

Yes, it's a toss up. I think it looks best on musclecars that are a bright color. If the color is a darker hue, then I feel it makes everything too dark.

I have it on my non-Olds which is a VERY BRIGHT orange color. Going with the lightest tint gives the illusion that I had custom tinted glass cut for it.

But if you decide down the road that you don't like it, it can always get pulled back off. Cleaning up the glue residue is a real chore. But it's not one of those mods that you can't go back on.

I've never been a fan of window tint, it scratches and bubbles up. Maybe its just the heat in Texas that wreaks havoc on it.

I'm with Eric. In Texas factory tint works the best. If you can find glass
for an a/c car and want to go through the hassle of changing them out, you
will be ahead in the end, or the kids possibly.

Now, if you live in AZ or the Sahara, things may change.

I like tinted windows, I think they do set a car off and make the chrome pop. My wife however doesn't like the tinting. She has a hard time backing up in the daytime, so at night with tinted windows she can only drive straight.
I say check with your Wife first .

Some good (and funny replies).
I do live in AZ, which is pretty close to the Sahara.
Yes good sunglasses are always a must. As is AC here.
My wife doesn't have a say in this one, other matters/cars yes but this one is all me.
Maybe I'll just tint one side :-)

I like tint. I think it adds to a clean look and sleek profile. The only reason I have not is my state does gov't inspection and they won't pass me.

The tint on my car was done in 2000 by PO and it still looks great.

I also do not like dark tint on the classics, almost as bad as going with the oversize rims. Leave all that for the newer cars. Most states ban dark tint on the windshield and the front side windows, as it drastically reduces your vision at night, leaving just the rear windows tinted which looks odd on the older cars. Agree with others that the factory tint is the best route.

I think it makes you look like a criminal, but maybe that's Northern bias.

You only see that on cars driven by disreputable people around here.

Please do not tint, it's good to see most comments are against. Down here car dealers automatically install tint film on new cars as a "profit adder", I hate the stuff.
