shipping a console

Anyone use a UPS store or similar to pack and ship a 1970-72 console ? I understand it is zip code dependent, etc; just wanted to get a rough idea of cost.

thanks!

Best the thing you can do is box it yourself. Maybe even build your own box. UPS will be more than happy to ship that in an over sized box. Good option is go to a bike shop. Cut that box down. Just my two cents. I have literally thousands of items.

Make your own box, just use stiff cardboard so it can protect itself at least a little.
Use online shipping calculators and providers to get much, much better rates. e.g., I use "goshippo" and their UPS account. Cost is roughly 1/2 of my personal UPS account and roughly 1/3rd of just walking up to the retail counter at the store. The shipping service is identical. Print out the label, tape to the box. It can take a little bit of time to get the accounts set up and whatnot, but even on that one item I bet you'd save over $30.
