shipping

How long did it take from the time you requested your car to be shipped to the time it was actually picked up? Its been 3 weeks and the truck hasn't even left the shipping company's yard. Is that normal?

I set up my pick up a month in advance so they were able to schedule it on my time table.

I want my car to get here before I go back to school. Hopefully I'll get the good news soon.

3 days. Actually, they arrived on the first day of "availability." I signed the shipping contract on a Tuesday and told them that I was completing the purchase of the car that Friday evening around 6. Any time after 6 that day they could pick it up. The truck arrived around 7 p.m. and loaded it up.

I planned on dropping off a car for shipping and made it clear that it must be there no later than a given date. They gave me the latest date that I should drop the car off to meet my deadline.
A week later I called for tracking info and they said my car "should" get out by the end of the day...it sat there a week after I dropped it off before they even moved it.
I have no faith in auto shipping brokers

I contracted for the move Friday morning, the car was picked up 10:00AM Sunday morning in Louisiana and it was delivered to me in New Jersey at 10:00AM this morning (Tuesday). The price was under $600. That's what happens when the truckers are in the right place at the right time and looking for a return load.

i only ship return load!!!!!!!!!!! its a win win deal!! i think the longest it took was a week and half, 1 time it was 1 day, i used copart salvage car auctions twice they go all over the country, i meet them at copart as soon as they unloaded there out of state cars they loaded mine up and were off!!! another time a moblie home lot towed a mobile home 2 CA and picked mine up on the way back 2 pay for there gas they were very happy 2 pick up my car and drop it off in colorado on there way home

from what they told me its up 2 the driver he keeps the money made from return load shipping, the driver said they get offers and if there not 2 far out the way they jump on it 2 pay for the gas they spent

good luck!!!!

When I shipped my Olds from NC to CA I used M2Reeves Transport. They'd picked it up in 3 days and 4 days later it was in LA, enclosed all the way and it never changed trucks. And they were one of the cheaper quotes. I would not hesitate in using them again.

It depends on where their trucks are and where they want to be. I was lucky, their trucks were up North looking for something to come South. I called on a Monday and they said "We can do it right now!". I said it won't be available until Wednesday. They picked it up from Long Island, NY Weds morning and it arrived in NC Friday morning.

I was originally told I'd get 24 hours warning. I got three hours. But I didn't complain. Better early than late!

I spoke too soon. They called yesterday at 5:00 and said that the truck broke down on its way to the pick-up. I think I have a serious case of bad luck.

Thats ridiculous Is the ND in your avatar Niederlands or North Dakota?
Took me 4 - 5 weeks to get my car from NC to my shed here in Australia.
Where the hell has it been all that time?

ND is North Dakota. It got picked up from the seller about 5 weeks ago and it has been sitting in the shipping company's yard from then until now. They took it half way to their yard then waited another 5 weeks to take it the other half.

Glad to hear you have your car now.

I had a similar experience this summer. It took about 40 days from when I bought the car, until it arrived here.

After 21 days of the Cutlass not being on or even assigned to a truck, I had finally had enough of dealing with the first company, so switched to a second, who had the car here, quicker then what they estimated.
