Service manuals online?
Service manuals online?
So, as I'm sure most of you know wildaboutcarsonline.com USED TO offer free memberships with access to all sorts of factory publication goodies including service manuals and chassis manuals and whatnot. I had service manuals for my '69 Cutlass downloaded a few months ago, then my hard drive died. I log in to the site, go to download the manuals and then get some bull**** page wanting me to pay $25 to become a "premium" member or something in order to access the manuals. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Anyone know where else I can download free service manuals for a '69 Cutlass? Or happen to have the pdf files you may have downloaded before they decided to charge people for access that you wouldn't mind sharing? The electrical section would be especially useful.
Or you could just purchase the proper manuals for your car. I have Motors manuals for most cars from the 70's back to the 50's. For electrical issues I use this link, though its for Chevelles they are very close.

This is for a 70, also very close:

As far as buying the manual, I found it for free online once I'll find it for free again
As far as the Auto History Preservation Society, they were charging a discounted $10 price for unlimited access for a while, but maybe they've given that up. Personally, I downloaded everything I might need while it was free, and still joined them at the $20 price, because I think they are doing a very valuable job.

ps: Do you have an ftp address?
That's all well and good, but a printed manual can be indispensable sometimes, and I wouldn't want to be without one.

I've noted before that there are no original digital versions of the factory manuals. Any electronic version you see (whether on line or a CD) is a scan of an original (at best). Resolution is lost, especially in the small diagrams like the wiring diagram.
Spend the $15 or so and buy a used original paper manual from ebay. It's probably one of the least expensive "tools" you'll buy for your car.
