Selecting Spark Plug Wires

Anybody care to offer insight on selecting plug wires for our Old's?

At least what would be a good choice for a street/strip BBO. I've perused discussions of construction methods in an attempt to decrease resistance while suppressing RF noise and all the rest of the blah, blah, blah- but nothing has helped me decide.

Kinda depends upon your distributor. Points style = 7mm wires and GM HEI = 8mm wires

For what it's worth, I have had very good results with Accel plug wires in both 7mm and 8mm over the past 37 years.

The now discontinued 8.8 Accel 25 ohm per foot race wires were very nice. I switched to them after my #1 wire cracked twice on my MSD Superconductor wires. I know Summit has there own 50 ohm per foot 8.5 mm wires. What diameter are you looking for? I also liked the 500 per foot Accel Extreme 9000 wires with the heat reflective boots.

Says Jegg's can still get them.

Or straight from Holley who now owns Accel

I'm using stainless steel 7mm GM wires on my 442's. The down side is the orange sheath colour.

I use Taylor Spiro-pro 8mm wires. They are inexpensive, good quality, and can be had at most parts stores locally.

I have stock cap with Petronix HE sensor, Accel coil, 7mm Accel wires and a AL6 box.

So I went to Summit and chose the Accel 8847 8.8mm 150 Ohm/ft Spiral Wire set. It has non HEI 90 Deg cap boots and is suppose to fit a BBO. If the red sparkplug boots look stupid I'll shrink wrap them black. Pricy and fat, but should be ok.

Thanks for your input guys.
