Seat covers for convertible

So we have a conertable with black vinyl bucket seats. Driving with the top down in it is like sitting on the surface of the sun. We have been buying the old open weave spring wire cushions but those seem to be unavailable for the past few years.
Does anyone have a good alternative so that your butt or back doesnt get soaking wet?

I have a similar issue here in the land of perpetual blistering sunshine. I thought about those cushions but could not find any, so I just suffer.

20 years ago I used slip-on seat covers from K-Mart that had a thin foam backing and that was enough to keep me from sweating and sticking to the seats.

Thats sort of what I did. A Fusick’s beach towel on each bucket seat, wrapped under headrest & held by a kilt pin. White seats though.
