Scanner suggestions?

Still cant figure out the cruise control on my 2004 Bravada so I got the service manuals. All troubleshooting needs a scanner to work down the flow chart but doesnt say what level/type of scanner. I didnt see any scanners online specifically addressing cc.

The factory manuals are written for the GM Tech2. I've got an OTC Genysis and it pretty much does all the factory tests in the CSM, at least on my 1999 truck.

If you can find a good used GM Tech II scanner it will access all the systems on your vehicle. I believe it covers from 1996 to 2006. The aftermarket scan tools are a crap shoot on whether or not it will access the system you are working on. There may be one out there but you will have to really do your research to make sure it covers all vehicle systems. I try to only buy the factory tools as I have used aftermarket scanners that were all but useless. The Snap-On mentor would be on my avoid list. Worst tool I have ever used.
