it sounds like a scam..

you should report it to a moderator, they can look into it and if they find a prob can ban him so it doesnt happen to others..but be clear on the screen name etc..."marcohoffman or something like that" is too vague

If he wants to talk about parts, offer to hold the discussion through PMs on this forum. He doesn't need your email or phone number.

You'd need to satisfy yourself of his legitimacy before engaging in any transactions, though. One indicator might be how long ago the account was created here.

Dont feel bad. I had a scammer recently on here and pm'd me telling me he/she won a big lottery drawing and wants to share it with me. The moderator banned this person.

i will say this...i have put stuff up for sale here, and a guy has joined and bought from me..and went well..but i was leery..and they where member a for about 20 minutes...ya just gotta feel out the situation..grammar is a big sign for me.

i have put stuff up for sale..like 4 or 5 items, and get the same form letter for each part..and thats a sign its a scam

i agree...if they want to talk to me about a part here..they can PM me..after a few PMs back and forth, then i dont mind passing my info..but i am always hesitant to give my email..

I hope the moderator didn't ban the person until AFTER he had sent you the money!

I banned that person because she did not offer to share the money...

As far as Marco Hofmann is concerned he did try and post in the parts wanted section but the site flagged his post, as it does a lot with Newbies, to be approved. That is why he had 0 posts. I'll do the wait and see with the him.
