BEWARE DO NOT BUY OR SELL TO THIS GUY!!!

I came across a local scammer I think we should all avoid.

I first saw his ads in the online autotrader for a 1971 cutlass then browsed thru his listings and discovered many old cars for very little asking price. Too good to be true asking price with shipping?

After doing some research I found these posts about Chad Taskinen of Desperautos.ca. Seems he sells old classics to people using fraudulent pictures and ships them cars that are not the ones people saw in the pictures.

And now his is selling in Alberta CA, even though he has been ordered not too.

Very interesting. After reading your attachments I realized were this guy is. At the Sumas border in Abbotsford. I have seen his car many times while sitting in the line up. I also stopped and looked at a 77CS he had. Several other not currently "popular" models. All seem to be restorable. $2-$3K is all they would be worth. Some are very ratty looking. Also if you go to USA border cameras , ( they let you see how long is the line) you can see his lot in the north camera view. He is still their today.

He bought a 1972 442 from member RocketDevo and then pumped it full of insulation & painted it. This was an exceedingly rusty parts car that he then sold to a customer in ON. The person in ON had the car advertised in kijiji in ON warning people about this vendor.


Same thing happened with a 73 442 that he filled full of pooh & painted & sold to an unsuspecting buyer in Regina.


Most of his cars were purchased in WA & brought up to Canada when our Canuck Buck was worth more than the US $. Lately that advantage is gone so he is buying up rusty cars in the BC lower main land.


STAY AWAY FROM THIS A-HOLE! HE GOES BY THE NAME OF CAT RESTORATIONS.
