Hello, do you have any pictures of frame? My son has one of these and the frame has rusted through. Thank you]

I moved your post to a new thread. I doubt the OP of the other thread still has the car (even though he was asking a bit much given that the AC didn't work).

The late model 98s (C body) and 88s (H body) would sometimes have rotten subframe bushings that could even fail catastrophically. Especially up north.

The proper fix is to soak the bolts for the subframe bushings with your penetrant choice (PB Blaster or Kroil). Then drop the subframe and replace the bushings. Hopefully you won't have to get another subframe from the salvage yard.

Here are some replacement bushings.

Here is a website to use if you need a subframe. 98s, 88s, Buick LeSabres, etc. should all be the same.

I wanted to do this repair on the 96 98 I had. It's quite an involved repair though, hopefully you have access to a car lift. Fate had other plans for my 98, I had to scrap it.

Rusted through sub frame

I have a 1998 oldsmobile regency and the front is rusted through i was wondering if anyone has any advice on how much it would cost for a mechanic to repair it.

It would cost more for a shop to fix it than the car is worth.

Only do this repair if you can do it yourself or if the car has sentimental value.

These cars, with perfect subframes - go straight to the crusher down here.

Yeah, the subframe on my 96 98 was solid, I just wanted to do the bushings as preventative maintenance. Unfortunately, fate had different plans and I scrapped it for a pittance. 😪
