That's different. A friend in KS has had trouble with them recently. Getting parts has been difficult since June; had a helluva time getting ready for Drag Week.
They should at least answer the phone or emails. I didn't have any problems getting ahold of the AutoGear guys.. I guess Stolpa doesn't need the business.

John is overloaded with work. If you need to reach them start calling around 5pm, and redial everytime you get their answering machine. Theyre not a huge company, only a couple of employees. Not the best way to operate a business, but it is their current situation.

Try placing an online order unless you need some sort of verification.

Every shop is backed up. Cutlassefi was working on 3 builds at once last I talked to him. Even he has been slow to send parts, he is a one man show, extremely busy and I know they will get delivered eventually. But not as slow as the local machine shop, finally everything machined and balanced nearly a year later for my 358. I was told maybe a month or two🤣. CK Performance has sat on $600 US for TH2004R parts for nearly 4 months. I had to proceed with a PayPal claim, they are still stalling. Doubtful they will deliver, I have purchased in the past without issue. Extreme Automatics it is, options are out there. While most people sat on their *** collecting government money, those people have been spending this found money and overwhelming shops. My Wife and I had record pay years last year, Fuel Truck Driver and a Nurse, both extremely overwhelmed by the Pandemic. Hopefully these Oldsmobile experts don't just say F it and retire. Hope this works out for you.

Through a personal dealing with John Stolpa, I found him to be a very honorable man. It is easy to get backed up these days when you are head machinist, shop foreman, shop owner, parts shipper, etc. all at once. He will come through.

65-330, your order from Monday night after hours shipped on Wednesday. You should have received an order confirmation at the time of order and a subsequent shipping notice with tracking information. We apologize we could not get to the phone when you called as Stacy was helping me get ready to leave for the PRI trade show on Wednesday.

Fleming442, I only have one recent order from you dated June 24 which shipped the same day. Who is the customer from KS you mentioned?

Glad to hear. Ck Performance came through for me, shipped my parts. Cutlassefi is taking care of me as well, as always. Deal with people you can trust and stick with them. Many Sheisters in the Oldsmobile world. Unfortunately many things are beyond their control in this current Pandemic World.

It's a guy named Garth. He can be a bit of a pain to deal with as a customer, so I can totally see why you would stop talking to him. LMFAO He has desktop dyno software, and was coming up with all kinds of weird piston and rod combos. He ended up buying some stuff but I forget from whom.
My order was received quickly, and thank you for that. It's the reason I suggested the OP order online. Things, in general, have definitely gotten worse since June, though.

Just saw this thread! and ordinarily I try to stay out of this type of thread. The parts shortage is a lot worse than you might think. I had talked to John back in Aug. about going through one of my Engines about now, he told me thats not going to happen because his floor is covered with engines now and he can't get the parts to complete. So I'm looking at this coming Fall. John has worked on my stuff in the past and I hope he is willing to work on my stuff in the future. John is pretty much a one man operation. Have you heard of the saying " Busier than a one armed paper hanger" If you are ordering parts from who ever don't expect to get your parts in the afternoon when you ordered them that morning!

To touch on the supply chain comment Rule of thumb right now. Don't order anything unless someone physically checks the parts are in stock. This sounds rediculous but we not only have a supply chain issue we have a f**k **** employee issues. People are hiring anyone with a heart beat. We waited over a month for a 20k dollar hood on a Maserati I'm working on because some idiot at the freight depot stuffed it in a truck between shift changes and it just sat lost until that truck was used again . We lost 2 weeks !!!!!!. It took less time to get there from Italy. This is just in general btw. There is also the problem of people taking in jobs with out pre ordering parts or covering a certain percentage of the job which cost money and time. The times they are f**ked.

Preach. I'm installing a two million dollar conveyor here in a couple weeks, and we still can't get some of the parts we ordered. Fortunately, we have workarounds.

@koda we got things we can do as well to get around some stuff but not much. One of my biggest money makers this year is the fact I can work heavily wrinkled metal and make it nice without a bunch of filler . In the collision world right now metal guys are making bank. Much like olds307and403 said this pandemic has created a few unique situations some bad some good. The good is I can damn near get paid whatever I want from the insurance companies to save saveable metal vs replacing . The bad is having a car sit for 3 weeks because we can't get a parking sensor despite the fact the car is totally done. That's been very frustrating .

Rocket Racing big props for coming on here and addressing it in a professional manner👍. My one dealing with them was also positive. Copper, skilled labor will always find work, glad you are busy. We also had too much work hauling fuel. Everyone and everything is at the point of breakage due to this Pandemic. We had another fuel truck down again in fall. This time our Peterbilt, usually our POS Freightliner's, the ECM went. No new ones available due to chip shortages and not making them in the foreseeable future. The search finally found one half way across the country, many weeks later. Hopefully, Mankind moves past this mess, here's hoping.

John and Stacy are class acts as you can see. Far too often maybe not here, people jump to conclusions and end up screwing up someones reputation. Usually there is a good reason for most things. A vendor can ship out a part and then that part is at the mercy of the shipping co. A while back I sent a carb. to Bernard in Washington State. I tracked the package every day myself. I swear I could have walked to where it had to go faster than with the shipper. For some reason it sat at one depot for a week before it was moving again, WTH is with that! I think everybody needs to step back and relax a little bit.
Koda; When I was still in the trades we call that a Reach Around because someone is going to get jerked off because you don't have the parts.
