Road trip and a car show all in one😀
I saw this advertised on Facebook a couple weeks ago and thought I'd check it out.
It's about an hour drive from where I live so I figured it would be a nice ride.
The only thing that was questionable was the weather, but it held out so off I went, and wanted to share some pics along the way....
...rolling into Wakefield...
...and some pics from the show.
This is an original tool set for this 1925 Model T

Your posts are always so good. You get out and enjoy your car. You appreciate all the other cars always. Thanks for posting the pictures. I dig your green interior car.
When I was a kid the local junkyard we went to there was a 69 442 bench seat car that was about to get crushed. White car no top. Green interior. Zero options. Crushed. Not one dented panel on that car.

Neat cars! I like that 64 Chevelle two-door wagon. In 64, all the GM Divisions except Pontiac had a cool midsize wagon- Chevelle had the two-door, Olds and Buick had the Skywagons.
Did you make sure to have a piece of Diner Peanut Pie?😃
A couple friends and I make a trip to the R.M. Felts Packing Co. store in Ivor every November to get our Christmas hams. We also stop at either the Diner or Wakefield Peanut Co. to get peanuts.
We had eaten lunch at Cowlings BBQ in Waverly on this trip for years and were surprised and disappointed last November to find that, after 50 years of cooking pig, the Cowling family had closed the restaurant permanently.😟 Guess everyone wants to retire sometime.
So we doubled back and had lunch at Virginia Diner. Good, but not the same as the bobbacue jernt. And I did have a piece of peanut pie!

I see you're in my neck of the woods...whereabouts?

Up near Danville. Couple hundred miles from Hampton Roads area.
Wish I still had contact info for some of the old Eastern Virginia Olds Club folks to put you on to. Greenbrier Olds in Va Beach used to host an Olds show with EVOC every year. EVOC fell apart in early 2000s, roughly same time as the Mid-Atlantic OCA in North Carolina did.

Maybe I can ask around about the EVOC. I have a contact that's been in the car scene for a while and he has a mid 70s 442. I'll let you know.
