I'm looking for any recommendations on a reputable engine builder in York Region, Ontario. I live in Newmarket and I'm having a hell of a time finding someone willing to do the job who knows olds 455's. I just keep getting the run around and I'm so tired of it. Nothing crazy here with a final 9.5:1 or so final compression. Thanks for any suggestions.

 

Closest I can come is Tiny's shop out in Ingersoll. He does some hotrod work. He might know someone. 519-425-0033

 

Olds specialist here in Brantford, they have been in the business for a very long time.

im considering Roger for 350 rebuild. How many kms did you put on rebuild ? Any issues ?

 

Robinson Analytical (CANADIANOLDS) in Grimsby or BTR IN Rochester, NY. Not that long a drive to either and well worth the trip. Both extremely fluent in Oldsmospeak, why put a baby human in a veterinarian’s care? Ya, vet certainly has the basics but a specialist is an expert.

I can’t find Robinson Analytical online, do you have a link or contact info? Also sent BTR an email , probably have to ship the engine if anything and would have to figure out the logistics and if it’s worthwhile at todays fx rate.

Pretty sure Dale is beyond backed up but he may know who is decent. Machine shops here are still extremely backed up.

 

I’m booked one year out. The only place I trust for doing anything is Beatty & Woods in Mississauga. Not far from Newmarket. They do my cranks. Everything is in house including Dyno. Pretty well known Super Stock racers/engine builders from the 70’s

Chuck Beatty has done 3 of my engines, including my current engine. Nothing but great things to say about the work done in his shop. All professional employees. Very strong engines. I would use his services again without hesitation.

 

Yea I ended up going with them and recently got my engine back to auto shop to install back. I haven't drive my car yet but Jeff at Beatty Woods was great all through the process, I am looking forward to cruising.
