Reproduction manuals

Hi there,
I'm looking into buying the physical manuals for my 1968 442. Back when I got the car I thought I could save a few bucks and get away with having the digital copies but its not the same. Now I'm looking for the physical books and i remember hearing that the reproductions aren't always clear. On RockAuto I found the Chassis Service Manual and Body Service Manual by Detroit Iron. I also found a Body Service Manual and Factory Assembly Manual by Dave Graham. Has anyone bought these before? Are these good quality reproductions? I linked each of them below. Thank you for your feedback!

Purchase an original paperback 1968 Oldsmobile Chassis Service Manual (CSM). Search eBay - plenty out there. Do not buy anything listed as brand new because they all suck. Purchase an original. Here's an example, do your research on eBay.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/336255316425

Search this site for a paperback 1968 Product Information Manual (AKA Factory Assembly Manual). Reach out to (PM) Hairy Olds
Search either eBay or this site for an original paperback Oldsmobile 1968 Fisher Body Service Manual.

CD/DVD copies all suck. Buy an original paperback edition.

Thank you! Do you think I should get all three? Chassis Service, Body Service and Factory assembly?

Yes original ones are best but an original factory assembly is unlike to find. Repro one I got from Faxon had Faxon in a light image in the background.. on each page sometimes makes it hard to read. actually a lot of used stuff on EBay

Norm is correct, you will be amazed how much info you will get from the printed versions. When I first got mine I took inside and sat in my recliner and studied them for hours!

Paul's PIM/Assembly manuals are the absolute best you can buy by far.

The Big 4 are the chassis service manual, the fisher body manual, the parts and illustrations catalog, and an assembly manual. Paul Sigmund has the best assembly manuals as they are not meant for outside publication. The other three are GM publications.

After that, the Roe and or Ruggles Quadrajet books, maybe a TH 400 book.

Haven't looked at my original Chassis Service Manual since earlier today. Nothing better.

The PIM (Assembly manual) that Paul sells are very nice reproductions. The Chassis Srevice manual is easy to find online, ebay etc.
