Was there Thursday, it was a beautiful day weather wise. Heard vendors talking about packing up Friday because of a Saturday washout... I requested a vendor to bring a 67 Cutlass rear bumper core for me to purchase which he did. I ran it over to TriCity, it was a damaged rechromable core. $1200 for the rechrome and an extra 100 for fixing the substantial damage on one end... ouch! Last one I had done was $675 about 5 years ago. Will pick this one up at the Fall Swap. Picked up a repro door handle for 5 bux, a 67 fender and inner for $140, a 5 dollar 7 blade clutch fan and a 67 steering column, floor shift for $120. As usual Olds stuff is scarce comparatively...
Yeah, I've had Tri-City do half a dozen Olds bumpers for me in the last 6-8 years and the price has climbed from $700 to $1250 for the rear from my 69 wagon that they did last year. They are still the least expensive around. I've also heard very good things about D&R Chrome, out of SoCal. I suspect they do their plating over the border to avoid EPA and CARB restrictions, but the work seems to be first-rate and they are very reasonable. They also do pot metal. My friend had pot metal parts for his 62 Pontiac done by them and was very happy with the results. They come Spring and Fall. I plan to drop off parts with them in the fall.
As for vendors leaving, you couldn't get out any of the gates Friday afternoon due to the exodus. We actually had a couple of good sales Saturday AM. The rain started about 11:30 and packing up in the sporadic downpours really sucked. Now I have to hang up all my tarps to dry.
All in all, this was the best Carlisle I've ever had for sales. These aerial photos were apparently taken Wed afternoon.
