Had a chance for a quick visit to the REO Olds Museum in Lansing. Had a great time and learned a lot from the exhibits. Some really nice cars. I noticed that Mike Fusick donated a few cars and has done a lot of work to help the museum keep going. Ran into a real nice older couple who own the 1969 Hurst Olds pictured. They were prepping their car for this coming Saturday’s hoods up show at the museum. Some of you probably know them, Judy and Doug Badgley. It was a pleasure meeting them both . Anyway here are some pictures in the best order I could post them.

Doug and Judy, nothing but the best Olds people. Did Doug talk you ear off? The W-31 sport coupe was one of our forum members Dave Bunch, his family donated it to the museum. RIP Dave!
Glad you got to see it. Yep Doug and Judy are great- they are very active in the REOlds Chapter- There are lots of great people there including Pat. Unfortunately since I moved north I don't see them as much as I used to. Anyway, yep the museum is great!
Absolutely wonderful pictures, thanks so much for sharing. One of the pictures really took me back to my childhood, the picture of the REO mowers. For many years I mowed our lawn in Battle Creek, Michigan with a mower exactly like the one 2nd from the left (Aqua one) in the picture. I don't know if you looked at these closely enough to notice, but the gas tank for this particular model was the cylindrical tube that was the center part of the push handle. In the picture you can see the rubber fuel line going from the bottom of the tube to the engine. The gas cap screwed off in the center of where you place your hands. It was so unique and I sure wish I had it today. It would be a great piece of garage art!
Happy that you all enjoyed the photos. - it was my pleasure. The museum is a great place. $10.00 admission fee is a bargain. I think 4 hours or so would be good to see at a leisurely pace. Doug and Judy were great. I did not know that the W-31 was donated to the museum - that is truly amazing. The car is beautiful and it’s a 4-Speed. Very generous of the Bunch Family to do that - Dave lives on ! The REO lawnmowers were really unique and very well presented. I did not notice that the fuel tank was up near the handles - I had to go back and take a look at the pictures. I guess it was easy to fill but you had to be careful with your cigar !
Something that was pretty wild was RE Olds and his wife. If you look at their picture in post #4 above it shows their Date of Birth and their Date of Death. Take a close look at notice how close all the dates are.
I also had the chance to see The Henry Ford in Dearborn. Probably one of the nicest museums in the country. Rivals the Smithsonian in my opinion. It’s a museum of innovation so it’s not just Ford stuff or cars. They have the JFK limo and the Reagan limo. There are many makes and models of cars. Planes, trains and so much more. I also did the Ford Factory Tour. You get to watch the workers assemble Ford F-150’s and Raptors on the real assembly line. I had to breeze through both of these but I would say that you need a full day to truly appreciate it. There is also a large village set up for you to tour that I did not have time to see. There is a place to eat in the museum.
Thanks much for sharing your quality photos. Kudos on the dedicated individuals who curate the legacy as well as the folks who contributed pieces of their collection.
Excellent post. The way you posted everything it made me feel like I was there. So many to comment on. I can't say that I have ever a woody in blue before. Beautiful car. I agree with your take on that F-85 W-31. What a sweet car. I would love to hear the story on that Vista Cruiser. Very well done. 66 W-30 is just slightly bad ***. Too many to comment on.
Thanks for the thread and taking us all on your tour.
