Removing Trunk Torsion Bars

Was wondering how to get these out without the GM tool? The repair manual I have is so dark, I can't tell what it looks like...and...don't want to buy one, heck, can't find any tool at MAC, or loaner from AZONE. It looks like the back one will come out after the tension is take off the front? They are wrapped together, in a sleeve, but loosely. Advice? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
SW Steve

Easy. Use a piece of black iron gas pipe on the far end of the rod that hooks into the notched portion of the trunk hinge frame and lift up and towards the inside then release it down.
