Recycled new parts?

Recycled new parts?
Picked up a new timing belt for my Honda. I was stunned at the 50% recycled material label. Seemed like they are actually proud of it. Is this a new trend in replacement parts. I'm a little squeamish about using it.

And the original was also..
Hint, it's the cording that is most of the recycled part..
The rubber is also but none is post consumer .. All industry waste recycle
