recommendations for shipping car?

Any recommendations on this people? Definitely looking for a respectable company. My car is no trailer queen but want to be sure its safely carried to where its going. The high end companies are probably more than I want to spend but what do you guys reccomend?

I was very satisfied with Monarch. Robyn was excellent.

My experience with Autotransport 123 was terrible! No, terrible is too good a word. I'd need less letters containing F and S to accurately describe them. I have been around a while, but was still shocked at the lying, deception, and overall BS from that company.

They are not an transporter, but an agency that takes your money for no gain. I found it far better to do the research and find a carrier who actually owns the trucks and has their own drivers.

Most of the supposed 'Transporters' are nothing but brokers trying to make a buck. Do not even consider the lowest 3-4 offers, as your car will sit where it is for at least a month.... as posted, go for one that has their own trucks.

(someone asked a similar question about 6 months ago on a different forum, I've copied my answer from there near-verbatim)

My brother used Intercity about 5 years ago for his Ford Probe, if I remember correctly it was $1400 for MI to CA and from what I saw it seemed to be good service.

I have a spreadsheet I generated nearly 6 years ago that listed all of the transportation companies & contact info that had advertisements in Hemmings at the time (my brother worked off this list, as did a co-worker about 2 years ago for PA to NV), I had started to whittle-down the list for something similar for myself; hawks, if you'd like a copy, please contact me directly as I didn't want to email you the file out-of-the-blue.

I wanted strictly closed trailer due to when I may be needing this service; from the research I was doing, I found I was going to be most comfortable with a company that runs its own marked 18-wheelers, as the car stays with the truck from pick-up to delivery (allow that the driver may have to do some shuffling when making deliveries) ... some companies run "nondescript" 1- or 2-car trailers behind a heavy-duty pick-up (tend to be more expensive) and others act as brokers (so you are not necessarily in direct contact with the driver and/or the car is transferred between haulers at some way-station), so buyer beware.
