Recommendations for Nuts and Bolts Rust preventative

Sunday morning discussion. While working on my 68 Cutlass, anytime I remove a nut, bolt, or fastener, I like to use some degreaser then put them in EvapoRust (best rust remover ever) for 24 hours.
Then I use a Tap or Die to clean up the threads. But the bolts are now clean and are prone to new rust.

What recommendations do you have for coating the parts to prevent future rust?? oil, spray, anti-seize, dip, etc.

I like the look of the cleaned nuts and bolts. they re-install easily after cleaning the threads. But they start showing surface rust in only a few days.

I used this with great results. It goes on wet then dries as a protective film.

Ordered it on Amazon, I think it was about $20 for a 12oz aerosol can.

I've used a lot of different stuff over the years. Sharkhide is supposed to be the latest, greatest thing. Were I Norm, I'd be looking at the ingredients and trying to figure out how to make it in my bath tub. It does look like good stuff. Check the cost...

my friend used to get beaver reasearch stuff when we did his race car,his work would get it,and he would borrow from them, silicone, degreaser, ect. that was in the early 90s,even got us hats and t shirts. fast forward to 2 yrs ago, went into dunhams to get some ammo, struck up a conversation with the guy behind me,come to find out he is a rep for beaver,we talk about all the above, and he says, wait here,he goes to his car, comes back with some hand cleaner....called.... beaver reasearch, nut scrub. contains nutshells. funny name, great product. you know working for that company has to be a laugh a minute. nut scrub, nutless wonder towels, lol

Thank for all the comments. I will try to Boeshield T-9 to protect the fasteners. Hopefully it will last for a while.

I wanted something to coat bare metal to keep from rusting. I didnt know if there was some kind of spray coating (not paint) that would seal and protect the nuts and bolts.

I love this forum for open comments from everyone.
