Rearview Mirror
Hello All,
The rearview mirror in my '70 convertible Cutlass has a weird dark tint that looks like a stain or something and it's often the first thing people comment on when they get up close to the car. Not that I give **** about that but it is hard to see things in it for the same reason. I've seen replacements available at the usual supply houses but none of them are an exact replacement for the original, they lack the light that shines down on the interior of the car.
So, I'm wondering if anyone knows where there is a replacement available and if not, if it's possible to take the old one to a glass shop and have then replace the old foggy mirror while still retaining the day/night feature of the mirror.
Thanks

There was some discussion about places that resilver mirrors a while back, along with some instructions on how to remove the glass so yo can send it to the resilvering place.
Someone was also selling refurbished mirrors. Note that your '70 has a polished back side (front side?) whereas some later models (72-up) have a black finish instead.

I have restored many of these for people & can hook you up. Feel free to give me a call for more info?
I have the original glass pieces resilvered & reinstall them into you existing housing & clean & polish the whole mirror assembly & make sure everything works like it should. I can refurbish yours or sell them out right. Prices depend on what all you want but around $100.00 to buy a nice lighted one outright from me. Less if I do yours.

Refurbing mine would be great! I'll call you this weekend.
I hope you get some more business from this post. I'd be t a lot of guys might be in the same boat, it really stands out with the convertible since everyone can see it so easily.
Thanks
