Rear window mat....

My search is not working out!
Can one still buy a rear window mat for a 70 Cutlass? Anybody have any luck restoring them?

Thanks,
Ted

Its called the "package tray". Its available from many of the well known interior and resto parts supply houses. Try to find the one thats made in the USA it will last longer than two years.

Ted,
What do you call a guy who won't leave your front door??

Mat.
Sorry bud, couldn't resist.

BTW, which car is it for? The package trays are different for CS and fastback. Most of the good repops have speaker grille holes in the sub layer for twin rear speakers. I bought one for my 72 and am very pleased with it. Just a heads up, you have to take out the rear seat and sail panel trim to install it. Might need to be trimmed slightly.

Allan......

It is for the 70 Supreme...the Alberta car
All these years I had no idea what that was called.....I thought you were not suppose to place stuff there?.

Yup, dual speakers an defroster cutouts are needed.
The back seat and panels are out for seat belts and the panels needed to be reinstalled....so the MAW'S kicked in. The package tray is hurting.

Where did you get yours?

Ted

Hi Ted,

Year One has them! The only bad part is that going north of the boarder will hurt your pocket book.

Mine is the mesh pattern and I got it from OPGI about 6 years ago. Back then the shipping cost was almost reasonable. Glad to hear you can get stuff locally. I might just check in with you to see what kind of shipping benefits the local store can offer.
