Realoldspower?

Hmmm I'm getting "bad gateway." The site has had a lot of arguing and decreased traffic lately but it has some good information also. Being an Oldsmobile site I hate to lose it. Rumor has it someone is trying to reserect 442.com but nothing yet. Oldspower is back on line, btw.

That site has died off a lot, still works for me. I am pumped, Olds Power is back!

Facebook pages are killing the small niche forum. So many sub groups you can find what you need and not need to leave the page you are on. Personally the forums are getring old for me and the FB pages too. Im slowly getting back to my solo status but started pages to show my work.

You may not be on Facebook but the daily interaction of olds guys on FB is more significant than the few forums we have.

Yeah I don't get why people post on Facebook. If your not a member you typically can't see the info, whereas anyone can be a member of the Internet.

i see some small businesses that only have a Facebook page for their business, why? anyone can get on the Internet only a member can access Facebook ...doesn't make any sense

you guessed I don't have an FB presence your correct. My local snowmobile club migrated from a web presence to FB only? Result? I and I'm sure other members have become less active.

The problem is realoldspower.com has to redirect you to the real site. The real site moved from prophpbb to tapatalk a little while back (both are bulletin board service providers, like Internet Brands is for CO), and for whatever reason sometimes realoldspower.com tries to send you back to the old (and no longer existing) service.

The *real* realoldspower url is:
https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/realoldspower/index.php

well, for now.

There are several FB pages dedicated to Oldsmobile. There's the OCA FB page, the 64-67 FB page,Olds hardcore racer FB page etc. As with any forum,FB or media, there's some riff raff but over all there's some great guys and info. If you are like some who posted in this thread and don't like FB,stay away.

Asking any real questions on FB is annoying as shyt. So much misinformation and guys interjecting nonsense that has nothing to do with the question. You can ask a question about a quadrajet, get a few responses about doing a holley or an LS and then somebody will add that they used to have a 74 Comet, That was a nice car.

Dropdown I agree but sifting through the BS. There is some good info. I have gotten to the point I need to ask guys well versed and outside the forums and FB. Specific details i love this site for. It is what it is. For me forums are dying off on a personal level . same goes for FB groups

Don't forget the sarcasm... In addition a lot don't read the previous remarks or feel it is necessary to repeat the correct or even the wrong answer.

The misinformation,MY GOD the misinformation. People traffic in nonsense and then when you try to give correct info they dig their heels in. People are sure every W30 came with bucket seats, Tri-carb was available in '67, their buddy had a 68 442 with a 455 from the factory etc etc
