I saw this for sale on FB for real (as opposed to restamp) money. The surface doesn’t appear to be milled but I’ve never seen a zero prefix on a 70 (or any other) carb code before. The date code doesn’t look to be the same font and the drill holes lead me to believe it’s been rebuilt by a parts house, not restored. Is this thing real?
And here is a link to the Buick site where it appears this carburetor went when the seller could not find a buyer on the CO site when it was listed. Notice same pictures and verbiage in the ad at the Buick site......
I think you already know the answer to that question.
I kind of did but had to be reminded by others that it appears to be one of the same carbs that started the whole re-stamp fiasco 8 or so years ago. What is surprising to me is it's being listed with no "caveat emptor" and is being presented as real by a person who's name I recognize in the Oldsmobile community. More surprising is the fact that no one appears to be calling him out on it.... except me....
