Can someone please tell me if this is a real 4 speed car? I have a chance to buy this 1970 442 convertible. It is a real 44 vin car with factory air. How rare would is this car? 455 in it not sure if # match. Thanks in advance.
2933 total production for the 442 convertible in 1970.
That is not a factory shifter and the trans tunnel does not look correct for a factory 4 speed. I think they made an aftermarket automatic shifter like that back in the day.
Mark,
You beat me to the Pontiac pedals. It also had a power driver bucket seat & I see the safety sentinel speedo laying in the glove box. Also a power lock & window car. Probably had more options too.
Was a power bucket seat car. Seats in barn when barn caught fire Very rough car. Has old w27 rear cover. Not sure what to make of it running 455,fake 4 speed. Air convertible has w-30 badges. Sitting 20 years outside.
I know you're kidding, but we all have our competencies to make this site what it is. I simply had no idea that this car would have been able to be picked apart so thoroughly like that.
But couldnt just the pedal pads be Pontiac? I remember when I would go to the wrecking yard I would grab any good pedal pads for my brake and clutch for my Vette, if they would fit. I think i had some on it years ago that may have been like these.

Don't talk to Diego about Pontiacs, he'll make you go join a club.
