RE Olds Transportation Museum

I will be in the Detroit area and was wondering if it is worth the trip to visit the RE Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing, which is approximately a 90 minute drive. According to their website, a ‘70 W-31 and a ‘66 W-30 is on display - amongst others. Can anyone share their experience ? Is it worth the trip ?

If you have never been there, it's worth the time. I live 20 mins away, I go once, sometimes 2 times a year. Gift shop may have nice things, if you collect Oldsmobile paraphernalia?

It’s a very interesting place to visit. You would see that Mr Olds had his hands into a whole lot more than just the cars. Some great automobiles on display and as mentioned, cool stuff in the gift shop. 90 minutes….3 hours of road time..😖. I hope you’ve got an audiobook subscription.

Thanks for the advice guys. I’ll find the time to make it work. After Joe’s post I looked through some of the REO Lawnmower advertisements. Some are pretty funny :

Got one! From the museum auction a couple of years back. I spent some real time on it this summer, Oil burner judging by the top of the piston, no spark, filed and adjusted points to spec, still no dice! Also has a seized throttle shaft. And a MIA T-handle for the self propelled selector.

Here you go Joehttps://annarbor.craigslist.org/grd/...565812271.htmlAntique push mower, turns over, probably runs, extra blade. It may be missing some small part of the recoil starter, otherwise complete. Deck blade is belt driven off the camshaft, has a horizontal crankshaft, cast iron block. What's more collectible than that?

Posting for a neighbor, call if questions. (I forget the price he's asking, so if that amount bothers you, call and ask. I just didn't want to say $2).

The first REO mowers used Briggs & Stratton engines, but REO started building their own engine in 1949.
