RAM Trucks

Have wondered about dealership signs read "Jeep-Dodge-Ram" and just looked it up. Ram is now a separate manufacturer / brand (like Jeep) and not a Dodge truck model anymore. Have I been living under a rock ? Who knew !

FCA spun off the Dodge trucks as Ram division in 2009 - yes a decade ago. Might want to dig out from under that rock.

From Wikipedia:

Ram Trucks, stylized as RAM and formally known as the Ram Truck Division, is an American brand of light to mid-weight commercial vehicles established in 2010 as a division of FCA US LLC,

I think the 2010 date is correct because my 2010 Challenger shows Ram emblems on the steering wheel, hood, and wheels. In 2011, those Ram emblems were no more.

I think you should think twice about believing what you read on Wikipedia...

From the actual FCA website:

Since its launch as a stand-alone division in 2009, the Ram brand has emerged as a key player in the industry with the award-winning all-new Ram 1500, the longest lasting line of heavy duty trucks and a full range of light commercial vans – all Built to Serve.

Yes, that Wikipedia date was bogus. Apparently the decision was announced in the first week of September 2009--that would still have been too late to cancel the Ram logos on the 2010 Dodge cars.

Think about production years, Sept of 09 = 2010 model year.

My Ford F-250 turbo-diesel (180K miles) has an A$$LOAD of torque. (An A$$LOAD is twice the rated capacity of a BUTTLOAD but half the rated capacity of a FU*KLOAD). Agree, the Ram trucks aren't very impressive, IMO.

Yeah our 2010 Challenger had the Ram's head on the steering wheel. Our 2017 Challenger has the Dodge with two stripes. The new 2020 Ecodiesel has the most torque out of all the 1/2 ton diesel V6"s, 480 ft/lbs and is claiming it will be at the top for fuel economy.
