Radiator petcock sealing.

I realized last night that I haven't installed the radiator petcock.
I had to remove the top plate and lift the radiator a bit to get access to screw in the petcock.
I started to install it but figured it would be a good idea to see if a sealant or Teflon tape should be applied first.
Thoughts?

It wouldn't hurt but I have never used it and never had one leak.

I'd use sealant on the threads since the petcock has NPT threads on it. Not necessary, but a good precaution.

Teflon tape would lessen the chance of a leak and make it easier to remove later if needed. I'd use it.

Good luck!!!

The petcock uses tapered pipe threads. Either teflon tape or teflon pipe dope is a good idea.
