A quick summary for those at home keeping track

Here is my full video playlist. If you know of anyone with any interest in the car that may not be a member here or may not see this thread, please pass the link along to them.
Also, if I could ask a favor...if you are a member of another forum that features muscle cars or anyone who does contribute to any auto publication online, I would be forever grateful if you were able to share a link to the car there. The more eyes on this, the better. Thank you.

Ok, I said last pictures, but I wanted to get some clarification on here with the rear wheel wells. In the walkaround video it looked like there was rust, but that's not rust...it's mud/dirt. I just don't want anyone thinking they are rusty.
They are peeling the black paint from them pretty easily and you can see the original spray underneath. I spent some time in the driveway this AM to illustrate, but didn't want to strip them, just show that there is original paint (and the rear newer paint) underneath. Should be a quick project the new owner can take on with a pressure washer, but I am running short on time and don't want to tackle in case there are some areas that aren't as easy as others. I ran an electric pressure washer on the 25 degree spray for a few seconds.

Was just running some analytics on my Youtube channel and I wanted to share. Most users are from the US, some from Canada and other places, but one that stood out: Kuwait. Looked up Kuwait classic cars and it seems they actually have a nice appreciation for the good stuff. Cool to see.

Ok everyone...I'm outta here for a trip to Dollywood with my wife and kids. Missed a few of their adventures this summer so I'm going to have some fun and make up for it.
Should you have any more questions, I won't be responding until I get back on Sunday night. The eBay auction is a scheduled listing, so it will start at 7 PM EST and end at 7PM EST a week from then. I may be getting in a little later than the auction start, but I'll be on sometime Sunday night if you have any questions. If you could, please post questions in my "For Sale" thread here in that section. That way everyone can get an answer. Thanks!

Have fun and enjoy your family Bill. Take a laptop with you for when the auction starts you will need to answer questions as they come. Be prepared, it is a rare car and is going out there world wide. I know you will do well with it. I will be following along and will put it on my watch list. What's the start bid?
Got to give us that before you leave out.

Ok, I'm back now...just in the door.
They had something with street rods and customs at Dollywood when we were there. Wish I would have had some time to explore it. Giant show. Called "Shades" I believe. I didn't see any Oldsmobiles until today a trailer going by our hotel had a 69 convertible.
Well, it is on with the show...I guess. I'm feeling both a little excited and a little nervous about the listing hitting eBay tonight. I've prepared a really professional looking auction though and it took me a long time to get it all right. So I hope everyone likes it.
I've had a request via PM to consider a partial trade. I just wanted it to be made known to our members here that I'm sorry that I won't be able to do that. Mostly because whatever you are trading would need to be converted into cash by me and I really don't want to prolong this process of getting the funds at all. I understand that is how some make this hobby work for them though and it is a creative process that can get good results. Just won't work for me in this scenario. So thanks, but no thanks.

Also, my modest reserve has already been revealed!!!
It took all of 4 minutes and 13 seconds! Thank you for the bids I received and I told you it was a small reserve. Now you know.
And the 29920...well, those who love aviation know where that comes from. Standard day is 29.92. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_day Nothing to do with a 442 or a W-30, but aviation which is one of my loves.
This little monster is going to fly to a new home soon!

Had someone ask me about who is bidding on the car. All I can tell you is that so far it has been only CO members. I don't think it is fair to reveal who they are and even for the winning bid, I only plan on sharing that if they buyer doesn't mind. I think that's the right way to do things.
With everything going on, I forgot about one other thing... I do have leftover paint from the repair in 1976. It is in a sealed paint can and has been in climate controlled storage since the repair was made. The winner of the auction is welcome to it, but I can't guarantee if it would be any good today. I don't want to open the can. If the winner does want it, I will make sure it is packed appropriately with tied doubled up heavy duty plastic bags lining a box.
My wife is so happy that it met reserve already. My mother in law doesn't even know it is on auction. Trying to surprise her with the outcome, but my wife might tell her soon, who knows... Thanks guys!

Thanks pogo69. I didn't want it to be one of those listings that went for re-list after re-list with some pie in the sky number. The reserve I had set was truly about what I have in the car, but I'm expecting it to go significantly higher than where it is. Fingers crossed.

I've had a few comments on how great my auction looks and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who had contributed to its creation, especially Eric Jensen and Steve Minore for giving their input.
For those wondering, I used this site for a free template after searching forever: http://hdauctions.com/free-templates/
Most of the eBay Motors templates I came across were custom dealer solutions that they don't even list a price on, just "contact us." The template I used helped give my listing a professional look and I'm grateful that they offered the one I'm using for free. However, I do need to tell you if you plan on embedding YouTube video in it, their template directions won't work for that part. You'll have to go here to convert the link and not use IFrames as the template directions suggest: http://www.isdntek.com/tagbot/YouTubeConverter.htm
Also, I've had some comments saying how good the pictures look. It is simply not using a cell phone camera to take the pics. My camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70. It has 4.5 stars at Amazon with around 900 reviews: https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC...ct_top?ie=UTF8

Oh, and one more thing...just wanted to get it on here before I forgot...
I have 4 of these Black and Decker LED flashlights. Very valuable! They last a very long time when fully charged and charging only takes 20 minutes using a quick charger. The necks on them adjust numerous ways so that you can light up the areas you need to take pictures of, exactly how you want to do it. https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-...dp/B00A7WIXOQ/

Arguably the most exhaustively detailed and honest car ad I've ever seen on ebay - and I've read an embarrassingly large quantity of them.
Great car and great story, hope all of your efforts are rewarded with a top-dollar purchase. By someone who actually pays! GLWS!

End of 2 full days: 7 bids, 4 bidders, 1013 views and 101 watchers. Just found out that eBay doesn't show how many watchers in the search results for listings that don't have a "Buy It Now" price. So, I'll keep you all updated here. Those numbers are really great. I've seen closed auctions that ran a full 7 days and didn't get half the views. Thanks to everyone who has spread the word!

Well I had a 2 part question about the car on eBay. Using their clunky messaging system, I typed out a long thoughtful reply and when I hit submit, an error page came up, so I had to retype it. Anyway, I'm going to summarize here because on the second reply it didn't have the option to post to the auction. But I know everyone here probably knows these answers anyway.
Is the original Muncie available? Short answer: No.
Do you have the broadcast "sheet?" Short answer: Broadcast card was found and goes with the car.

Also, just wanted to share something that I didn't know until last night about the console vs non-console cars. As you know this is a non-console. A while back someone told me to look for the brackets on the floor to see if it was or not. Of course it didn't have them. But also, there is a difference in the front floor duct between two versions which makes total design sense, but I just never thought much about it. Another way to verify console vs non. I'm still learning...

Same guy asked another question:
Question: Do you have the pedal assembly or bell housing?
Short Answer: No.
Sounds pretty interested in getting it back to a 4 speed. I also reminded him of the exhaust manifolds and normal exhaust too. But he probably already knew that.

OK, I've received a few inquires regarding if I would end the auction early "for the right number."
There are only 3 ways that this auction would end early:
1.) If I took the car out for a drive and wrecked it or if a tornado came and took it away to the land of Oz or other car disaster
2.) If my mother in law wins the Powerball
3.) If I win the Powerball
For what it's worth, odds of #2 and #3 aren't so great because I don't think she plays and I play only 3 or 4 times a year.
So...in short...the answer is no! I will not end it. I've put too much time into this and have kept up my end of the deal with a reasonable reserve. Now it is time to just let it ride and see what happens.
By the way, if you inquired about this...I'm not mad. Just want to firmly let my intentions be known. Best of luck.

Day 3 stats in: 7 bids, 4 bidders, 1314 views, 124 watchers.
Also I'm just outside the top 10 sorted by popularity at Hemmings for auction listings and right outside the top 200 for all vehicles on their site (out of 25630 cars!):

Yes, this is a test of nerves for sure. I can see why people take their cars to BJ and Mecum. Over and done with very quickly. Would have considered that if I had someone to repair those fenders and if it was repainted. But I still think someone will see it doesn't take much to make the car pretty near perfect. Hoping so anyway....
I was trying to do some additional research on the white OAI lettering and came across this page: http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/cgi-b...aldisplayed=50

Just for fun because I had a similar pic...I like looking at the differences. So the car in the photo was a normal 442, non-W-30. The text sure made it sound like it was a W-30. Missing the passenger side mirror.

Things to consider:
Transportation and lodging for you and your car.
Maintenance / detailing while at the auction.
Entry fees.....prime time entries can run $1,000.00 or more.
Sellers commissions 8-10% of hammer price.
Sometimes you have to wait for your funds up to 60 days or more and your car is , well no longer your car and not in your or the auctions possession.
Some are no reserve only based on the value of the car and with some you have NO control of the time or date your car runs across the block, once you signed the contract and title over to them.
For the $100.00 or so, eBay can be well worth it, not that it doesn't have its pitfalls too.

The Auction houses are a viable venue and have been attaining very good sell through rates in the past few years. In fact, there are more collector car auctions today than in the past.

So since I saved $100, that's our dinner money should you ever make it here to Charlotte. I'd like to meet you in person and I'm sure you have some great muscle car stories to tell.

Anyone else notice the lack of bumper bolts by the parking lights? Wonder what the reasoning for that was.
