Unhappy Question about radiator support

Hello All!

My 64 olds (F-85) needs a new radiator support. Has anyone used a 64 Chevelle or Malibu radiator support or any other alternative?? Besides that, i need a passenger inner fender or wheel well.... Any thoughts???

Thanks for the help!

Are the 64 era supports unique like every other year?
In other words, do they interchange with any years?

They are one-year-only, one-division-only.

Double check- with a 65 F-85, Cutlass core supports. Once upon a time I was going to use a 65 on my 64 F-85 because the 65 radiator support radiator bracket is 3 inches lower for a larger rad. I have not heard that the fenders, headlights, etc. would not adapt using a 65..

64 only core support. 65 will not work with it.

Here is 65 with a 64 front end clip on it from a local guy here in the Dallas area with an LS conversion to boot, so I tough I would throw that out there.

Yeah, you can swap the entire clip - I had a 64 clip on a 65 442 convertible decades ago. That's not the same as only swapping the core support.

The area in the core support where the headlights attach are different between 1964 and 1965. I looked at this for a guy a couple months ago. Here's a couple pictures of this area.

1964

1965

1965 has the headlights offset, the outer one sticks out further

The 1964 core support this area is flat. The headlights are at the same level.

I suspect a few of us can come up with the parts you need. But shipping could add to the costs. I'd encourage you to create a parts wanted thread and post your location. Hopefully someone nearby can help you.

An option for you. My Brother in Law spiced together a v6 and a v8 support for me back in the eighties. V6 rotted on pass side. V8 rotted on driver side. Picked them up free then. Dont think you can get them free now. At least you could build a support I have a pair that I am going to spice as soon as I getmy welding practice
