Push rod length still!!!!!

Push rod length still!!!!!

67 330 2 barrell Olds Cutlass
one bent push rod...Can't seem to get the right length. Please if anyone can point me to the right length. I bought melling mpr-307 8.234 too short! Then I tried melling mpr-309-a 8.346 too
long....what size do I need? Ps I straightened it out and am temporarily using it...but would like to replace with a new one. Thanks for any help

thank you i was trying to avoid buying a 10in. dial indicator lol

^^^THIS! The shotgun approach ends up costing more money than does just doing it correctly.

You do not need a 10 inch caliper to measure for pushrod length. An inexpensive combination square will work just fine. You can make your own length checking adjustable pushrod out of an old one. Cut about a one inch long section out of it, tap threads for a 1/4" X 28 short stud in the two pieces left over. Put one end of the stud in one piece of the pushrod with loctite or epoxy, thread a nut on to the other end of the stud and thread that end in to the remaining piece of pushrod.
