Anyone know when production started on the '65 F-85/Cutlass/442 models for Oldsmobile? Always wondered when car companies start making next year's models?

 

Back then I think it was around July, prolly so they could have cars in the showrooms by September.

 

I would tend to agree. My '69 Cutlass prod. date is the 2nd week of July. Has to be one of the last '69 model year made.

 

I believe that it was July, after a two week shutdown to change over to the new model year tooling etc. More clarification is needed.

 

We've a '70 Chevelle with a 7/14 build date that's believed to be the last one off the assemby line, in St. Louis anyway, for 1970.
I believe production for the next years models were started the 1st Monday in August.
