One of the issues I was faced with when I swapped the hood on my '72 Supreme was what to do about the holes where the hood pins used to be for the old hood.
As you can see, the hole on the driver side was way bigger than the passenger side, so I had to come up with something that would be the same on both sides. I didn't want anything that looked "clunky" or "thrown together," so washers and bolts were out of the question.
So here's what I came up with...two plastic basic panel retainers ,two washers for underneath, and two rubber grommets.
I put the washer on the bottom as a way to fill the hole so I could use the grommet, then slid the grommet over the stem of the retainer and pushed it all the way up to the washer so everything would be nice and snug, and that was that. Some touch up paint, and here you go...
I got exactly what I was looking for, it cost less than 10 bucks, and took me about 10 minutes.
