I have 3 of these tail lights that I picked up so many years ago that I don't remember what model they were from. I don't see any for sale anywhere. They are similar to Rally 350 except silver on the
sides with a painted silver stripe on the raised edge. Are they F85 or Cutlass S? Thanks, Bob
Yep 70 supreme would be correct. But I have heard that some may have made it on to other cutlass models.
Here is the tail end of mine, bad angle, you can see the silver inlay.
I have concluded that these tail lights are from 1970 Cutlass S models, including those with the W-31 option. It seems that these lenses are not reproduced and sometime back people just started using the 442 lenses without the inner silver stripe. Rally 350 models had the silver stripe but the sides were painted black.
There were 4 different types of rear lenses for 1970 only. The ones in the OP with the silver painted accent are for all F85, Cutlass, and Cutlass S models. The same painted accent was also used used on the Rallye 350 except with the edges painted black. The 442's had no accent on the center of the lens at all and was just all red. The Supreme's had an actual stainless insert applied onto the red lens. All 4 types are designated by different part numbers for their proper application.
