Great pictures again. Saw a pair of AMX's at a local show here with the same interiors. Was that the only colour for the AMX?

That was a Pierre Cardin edition, not sure what colors were available with that choice. AMX's were available in several colors.

 

I am fortunate enough to have a wife that is into cars almost as much as I am. She always wanted a Javelin so a few years back we found a pretty nice on and bought it It's a '74 Javelin in Trans Am Red with that interior. If I remember correctly, I the interior was available with Red, White, Silver, Black and that Plum exterior color

 

Does your Javelin have anything on it that indicates that it is a Pierre Cardin Edition?

 

No. I have the badges but have never installed them. The car was born with a white interior. The previous owner came up with all original material somewhere - it's virtually impossible to find now - and swapped it out. There is a lot of debate in the AMC world as to whether or not the Cardin interior was even available in '74. It supposedly ended in '73 but AMC was notorious for using up every single bit of anything they had in inventory. As a result, there is some belief that some number of Cardin equipped cars were built in '74
