parts locator guide

Hello everyone I have been looking at getting one of those parts locator guide usually sells for around $25-$30 when I spoke to faxonautolit (the seller) they told me that the book is laid out in a telephone book style the manufacturer says that f you can't find your part they will refund your money.
Now even though I can get a refund still doesn't help if I cant find my parts and the most important ones that I have never been able to find is a complete set of body mounts all the cushions the internal blots/metal pieces Ican get the nuts/bolts/washers so don't need them but the cushions and the internal are a must have so after all of that has anyone used one of these books are they worth buying

Look forward to hearing your comments
Cheers
Neil

I would not waste my $ on the book and shipping to Australia. Those are easy to get parts here IF your car is a 442 or Cutlass. If it's a big car...I'm not sure but somebody here will know. Fusick Automotive (and many other places) have the rubber body mounts, you can check them out online.

Hello mrolds69
I agree with you about being easy to find if your car is a Cutlass or 442 problem mine isn't
Mine is the 69 b-body Delta 88 Royale and after 7 years I am no closer than I was seven years ago I have spoken to just about every parts manufacturer in the States and no one had any idea who could do it spoke to Dave at fusick didn't even have any reference to them in any of his books I have found the part numbers but not much good as no one has the old ones and anything that is close has a new number but the part numbers were never connected so you can take a new mounts number and trace it back to an old number up to now I have spent close to $1.000 on sets that people told me were the real del only to find out that they are completely different.

But if you know someone that knows the dimensions and can cut new ones then please pass on his email Addy and i can hopefully finally end my misery.

Cheers

Having done all you have to try and find those parts, throwing $25 out for this book is not going to help. Save your money!

OK...I see the prob now Neil! Right...the book is still not going to help you. I've had a lot of different make cars. My 2nd "go to" place to try for the mounts is Ames Performance, A GTO + Pontiac specialist about 10 miles from my house! They have a big car catalog you can pull down online, in the Steering + Suspension, they have a LOT of mounts with dimensions and diagrams. Something there has got to work for you. If your mounts are really rotted bad, it wouldn't really matter if they are 1/8" shorter...taller...narrower... whatever! New mounts are better than none. If you order, it's probably best not to tell them they are for an Olds, sometimes that confuses them. You can always compensate for small measurement differences in other ways. Even the replacement mounts you buy for a 442 or GS are NOT identical dimensionally correcet to originals. Check them out.

Hello All,
Thank you for your help at least that is oneoption i dont have to worry about so i think what i might do now is get hold of as good a set of old ones from a wreckers yard and then instead of getting them sent to me get them sent to a rubber manufacturer that can make new ones.
So my next question is who in the wrecking/parts yards will have 69-70 b-body cars

Thank You in Advance
