Oversize?

Oversize?
hi all. i need a little help here. i have a 69 ragtop 4 spd car. i decided to freshen up the engine a bit. i last touched it 35 years ago. my question is, a machinist looked at the bore and found wear to be .005-.007 . all cylinders look ok. i had a few broken top rings and some pounded top ring lands. virtually no ridge on top and no marks in the bore. my question is where can i find a 0010 oversize piston set or can this engine just take a standard set of pistons and work ok? it is a 350 rocket.

The cost to bore won't be much more than to hone if that's what you are getting at. I would just got .030 over. Of course this will be going to a forged set and it will need to be blanced and all that good stuff. I would go forged pistons vs. The stock cast style that are available. I spent 350 to bore and hone and install cam bearings and final clean.

Yeah, you need pistons no matter what, since your lands are shot, so, unless you're going to do it The Copper Way™ and use a set of used pistons , you Might As Well have it bored and cleaned up.
