Output shaft diameter
Vehicle - 1972 Cutlass
Transmission - TH350
Original gears (SA - 2.73)
Gears and carrier have been changed to 3.42:1 and limited slip.
Tire size 225/70/14
The TH400 could be ordered with the 3.42 gears, but it wasn't available on the 350 cars.
Question 1: Are the output shafts on the TH350 and TH400 the same diameter?
I want to put in the proper drive and driven gear that will correct the speedometer and odometer readings. I have no interest in just running GPS for speed.
Question 2: Will the sleeve for the TH350 work with the driven gear for a TH400? There's no information about this in the 72 CSM - I looked at the charts and all they provide is the gear ratio and driven/drive gear
My guess is the output shafts are the same diameter, but I'd like confirmation before ordering a new drive gear, and/or sleeve.
