Ordered from Fusick...

and one of the items was from InlineTube. Thought that was odd, and would be the other way around

Did it cost more than it would have cost if you had bought it directly from Inline Tube?

It's not surprising that some of the stuff they sell would be made by others. Some things they reproduce on their own, but other things that are in relatively high demand and made by others, why bother? Just get it from those manufacturers and resell it. I'm guessing that all the weatherstrip they sell is made by Softseal or Steele.

Nope, same price. It included the little piece of white paper with picture/price from ILT, and that is how I knew it was from them instead. 99% of all my repro parts so far have been from ILT.

Not uncommon.
Fusick sold a hood latch lock that was made by the parts place. That explained why it was a 'mod to fit' part........
Legendary's carpet was drop shipped from ACC.

Just a FYI it was 71-72 Tail Light Shields... one of those things that seem somewhat redundant - I mean the 'shield' does not even cover the whole tail light

I'm sure that Fusick gets it wholesale and then resells it. It's good for Inline Tube because they have more outlets for their product, and it's good for Fusick because they have more items to sell and thus make money on.

We call this capitalism!

And here we have another top quality part from Fusick. The first thing I bought from them was tail light lenses with crappy gray overspray. Now this...

Gee why stop... why not just paint the whole thing white.

Yeah, but, when it's on the car, you never see the portion of it with the overspray, correct?

Does not matter. There is only supposed to white paint on the inside... just like the pretty pics I have seen all over. I guess it is like the food pics on TV, commercials, etc... you never 'really' get that nice huge looking hamburger. Have they not watched Falling Down?!? Whammy Burger!!

I will prob try some steel wool on it.

Most people on here including yours truly have had very good service from Fusicks. Their customer service is outstanding. Hey, nobody is perfect. They are the only folks I buy from. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldnt worry about the overspray.... I bet NOS GM parts had it as well. Be glad there is at least a source for the parts you need, I know I am. As long as service is good and the part fits the bill I am satisfied. Any judge who looks for overspray or the lack of, on the back of a bumper mounted lamp needs a life.

68 tail light lenses have factory overspray just like that. Are you sure that's not the way they were originally done?

I have never had a problem with anything from them that they didn't take care of

It's not supposed to. It's a rock deflector for crud thrown up by the rear wheels

Not sure if fake, but ILT has some very very nice restored Oldsmobiles.

Allan R... which was way are they supposed to be positioned... top, middle, or bottom?

Also... anyone have pics of their restored/cleaned up rear 71-72 tail light housings? They appear to be aluminum construction. thx

Hey Oldzy any updated pics on your resto? I think the last ones were front brake stuff. How's it coming?

No not yet. I was really lagging for a while b/c of low funds. Got my income tax refund back recently, and just made a order with ILT (body bushings, engine bolts, and related), as well as a few items from Fusick (rear bumper stuff). I have a brand new NOS rear bumper (which is a bonus), and also have it in my bedroom... was going to assemble it here instead of the garage. I wake up, wipe it with a diaper, work on it a bit, etc. Pathetic I know. LOL.

I still have a few issues to resolve on the front end... one is welding a washer on one of hollowed out front lower control arm holes in the frame. Another is that my tie rods do not fully thread into the hex adj sleeve that I have. Once those few things are resolved, the front is pretty much done.

While I am working on the above, I am going to pull the engine apart, clean it up, add a new cam (either from cutlassefi or Bill Trovato), increase the CR to ~9.5:1. I am still debating on going to a 4-spd M20 (my TH350 is blown at present). I am hoping to have all this done this year, and have a complete rolling chassis with engine/trans/exhaust, etc. I will then start on the body which is a total mess. Hopefully some more pics within a few weeks.

I used to get good products and good service from said supplier, but, alas, no more. The treatment I received on the phone was rude and obnoxious. Will not buy from them again.[And I won't be stopping by to see them again either.] A disgruntled x-customer.

this is typical of most small businesses

customer service isnt their strong suit

they feel their product & reputation insulates them

instead of thinking of the customer first they get defensive

everybody has a bad day

I'll get around to sending you a PM with all the pertinent details.I don't want to skewer Fusicks online just because of one ******** who was probably pissed at working a Saturday on a long weekend. Previously I had no problems with them,[although they could have inquired why I needed another top rad hose after only one year.]
