This is one of a kind.

Check out the next to last pic. It may be the only one in existence.

I have only seen a couple of those hoods at National Meets since 1992... I am sure those hoods can demand a very steep price for the right perspective buyer...

The owner should list the hood for sale in Hemmings. I think the hood is worth more than the car. Especially since it doesn't have a title.

It's melting away as I type. I'm not sure where one would start on that bad of rot.To bad it would be a rare ride if restored. The rust is probably why it's restoration was abandoned in the first place..... Tedd

He would be well advised to sell the hood separately. The 49 Olds convertible is a very desirable car but there is really not enough left there to restore. Those hoods come up ever so often so this is not the only one in existence.

Would that hood fit any year up to 53? Definitely a desireable part for someone doing that kind of restoration.
