OMEGA value
OMEGA value
I have had g body 442s and love the olds. I found a 79 Omega SX with original paint/design with 64k. Not a bad car but the 231v6 is blown. Ive seen few omegas and none in this color scheme/design(SX). I have been collecting parts to restore a 72 monte carlo. I know I can sell my my monte but is this Omega worth buying. Will it be worth more than my monte? If i put a 455 in it, will the Omega hold value?
Imho, the Omega sorry to say is not a highly sought after car. If the car can be had inexpensively they are a fun car to play with. As far as being worth more than your Monte, who knows. There are a few threads where people put 455's in them, do a search.
I don't know much about the omega's but as I get older I find them cooler and cooler. But I would say just because of where things are today I'd doubt that it would be worth more than a 72 Monte Carlo. First of all its the last year of the range most people favor for cars 68 - 72. Secondly its a Chevy so there is a bigger market. Thirdly it was a cool car in its day anyway. Though dropping a 455 in an Omega would be fun. Just my .02
