oldsparts.com ?

Has anyone dealt with BAP (oldsparts.com) recently. I saw an old thread that did not recommend them, but it was from several years ago.

The reason that I am asking is because they seem to be one of the two sites (the other is OPGI) that are actually selling the part that I need which is the dash wood grain insert set for a '71 cutlass convertible. BAP is $140 and OPGI is $170. Even Fusick doesn't offer them.

Many sites are selling the sets for cutlass', many are selling sets for '70 and '72's and claiming that they are same as '71's, but these are the only sites offering '71 convertible sets.

If you value your mental well being, avoid BAP. As recently as 2013 I had a terrible experience with them.

Call Fusick and speak with them about what you are looking for. They might have access to the part you need.

It looks like about $160. This is what they specialize in.

I've had good luck with The Parts Place and HH Classic Auto. Check on e-bay. The Parts Place has an e-bay store and the prices may be a bit lower.

I forgot all about thepartsplace.com. Thanks. I wound up going with them. I ordered a new dash bezel and, what I hope are the correct, the metal backed wood grain inserts for a '71 cutlass convertible. The total came out to $228, and guess what...

NO SHIPPING CHARGES!!!

I'll take no shipping charges any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Now I only have to hope the parts are correct so that I do not have to argue with them over that 25% "restocking fee".

I had the same problem with Oldsparts.com, had I known it was a rebranded BAP I never would have ordered from them.

They didn't respond to my communications till I threatened to contact my credit card and dispute the charges.

Well guys stay far away from them, they will steal your hard earned money. Here there response when I said I was going to do a chargeback because they cant be bothered to communicate with paying customers. They don't answer phone calls during business hours, at least 10 calls, or emails, think I sent 4 of them, they only responded via a fb chat.

Well, there you go. Once a Cheese D*ck, always a Cheese D*ck. I'll never buy parts from them again. And these are just a few of the reasons why. I did about 20 years ago, learned my lesson then. Stuff don't fit and he blames the customer. Always the same. Always.

Same old same with Steve. I see he chimes in on OCA facebook. He should be banned from it for his business practices. FYI he did the same crap to me 20 years ago! He got charged back for parts that never showed. I would push my car before buying his parts.

Yeah its the old adage caveat emptor, I should have done a little better research on this company before I bought, but I will call my bank tomorrow to reverse the charge, **** all this could have been avoided with any type of communication. I have also reported him to the better business bureau of Missouri but my main objective was to warn you guys so none of you get burned.

if you want to get results send a letter with your documentation to the state attorney general I did this many years ago after being ignored for a credit of $36 for a trunk mat he said was backordered for more than 6 months. It got his attention and he finally refunded my money, it wasn’t the $36 it was the principle. I am not sure how he stays in business all I know is I would never buy anything from him again.

He keeps moving closer to Billions and Trillions. Wonder if they're twins separated at birth and just want to find each other again? I can't believe he's still in business trying to fleece people. His mail order address should be at a local jail cell somewhere, IMO. What slays me is how he berates customers trying to give him money for stuff he doesn't have and is too lazy or too stupid to figure out how to get in stock or even drop shipped. His business practices suck eggs. The ironic thing is he once bought a part off me from ebay and sent a message requesting that I ship it promptly because he had a customer needing it. That was rich. Too rich.

It's been that way that I know of personally for over 25 years...I last ordered from him back in '97-ish. Took forever to get all the stuff.

I recall them sucking even back on the RealOldsPower days in the early 2000s. There is a guy on the facebook groups constantly on every post hawking oldsparts.com every time anyone is looking for something. There website layout alone is enough to run me off. No need to be so miserable to shop around on in 2024.
