Oldsmobiles In Miniture
To pass the time of my 442 in the shop (which has been a long time so I have quite a collection now), I've been collecting and building mini Oldsmobiles. Who else has some? I KNOW some of you must have some. I'm not a "pro" builder by no means, just like to have fun DSC00054.jpg DSC00053.jpg The '66 I built about 10 years ago to look like my 1st 442 if it was put back to stock. The '69 was given to me as a gift and I just finished it last month. I'm gonna start on another '66 and build it as close to what I want my current car to look like today.

They look great. Keep up the good work. I know I could never be that good with models and may be why I switched to diecast. Although I have taken a few of them apart with the ideas of doing customs.
Those look really good, nice paint jobs.
Not a pro? I always wondered how you get a job building models?
I've been working on '71 Vista Cruiser HO scale slot car bodies, my older daughter needs to make some more for testing at the dental office she works at. They have vacuum forming machines that work really good, you can mold anything that will fit.

Everything I paint is from a rattle can, no air brush here. I have a few diecasts as well. I dare to say I have EVERY 1/18 scale Oldsmobile produced! I've taken a few of my 1/18 cars apart to detail them, add chrome, carpet, detail paint, etc. Makes the $20 cars look almost as good as the $100 cars.

Guys - I have been collecting Olds' toys for as long as the big ones. I have at least 100 diecast, model kits, promos, Slot cars, etc. Some of my favories are:
Thanks.

- 66 Toronado in HO Scale - made by Aurora as a slot car - perfect scale and really nice detail.
- 63 Starfire in HO Scale - made by Atlas. Scale is clunky but it features chrome bumpers and chrome side trim.
- 65 Starfire Diecast - Matchbox car size - opening hood and trunk - nice detail. Made by Husky. (See Picture)
Thanks.

Nonono, my real one has the Cummins, the model has the Cat. I run part time, when my friend on the coast has his harvest ready, he gives me a call and I run on the weekends, they run 3 farms, he grows strawberrys, avocados and stuff, I've put over 850k miles on the truck since I've had it, I was full time otr until 2005. If I told you what I do now, you wouldn't like me very much, lol!!!

booyahh. Nice to run into another pro, What are you doing with the rest of your time? A friend of mine is running a 96 w9 with an n14 345 hp in excess of 1.2 without ever opening it up. Replaced a diff, and 1 injector, otherwise **** maintainence. I picked mine up may 06, and have managed to keep mileag to a minimum, 245k to date. 475 acert 18dblo have gotten up to 8.02 mpg with her avg high sixes. Predominantly local Chicago though so she is seeing a brutal life. Big cam was the last itteration b4 the n14 right? Those are a bit b4 my time. I have heard good things about them.
No, there was the BC IV, but I heard they had cooling problems. I did an in frame on mine in '03 only 'cause I had the $$$ to do it and the miles was getting up there. Buddy at Cummins shop in town put marine injectors in it and turned up the p-pump, puts out almost 500hp on the dyno and gets me a hair over 6 mpg loaded, damn good for an old mechanical motor that runs up the hills out here like they ain't even there, love the 13 spd, the 1/2 gear split puts the power right where I need it on the hill!! Didn't know 2 years later I would be doing what I'm doing now 400 BC III, 13 spd double o/d, 3.73 twin screws with cross locks (aka posi so true 8 wheel drive) And what do I do now? Hmmmm, how can I put this, you better have your truck in shape comic book up to date or else 1024072312.jpg
It was smooth, you still have to go to a month's worth of training (yawn), but when I went through it, I had to stay at the Academy, the new guys got it easy, their whole trip is spent in a posh hotel up in the Bay Area. Chips?? LMAO, check this out!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n97NKrntibo
I don't know, a good friend of mine that drives for a pretty well known reefer outfit just had his highest miles month ever, 16k miles driven in March, his average is 11k. He's a runner like I was. It wasn't too long ago when I used to do what I called "dawn to dusk" runs, 1 time I did 1000 miles in a day
