Oldsmobiles on Holiday's.
Oldsmobiles on Holiday / Vacation
I have been thinking about this thread for a while. I would like to see people post photos of their Olds while on Holidays. I don't mean a club run or event national or state. I mean you taking your family or friends away on holidays in your olds instead of your daily car.
I guess for me this isn't an issue as my Olds IS my daily car and having the bigger boot ( trunk) it gets the nod for all family holidays , so the kids can take scooter etc with them too. Plus I do all the driving.
So load them up and post them here. A description of what you were doing would be good too. I know we all take our cars to events, but how many actually get their cars out for fun with the family away from home.
Also I'm taking about at least a night away or two. Not just driving to the next town for an ice cream.
so here you go a start from me.

Good idea, but one quick comment!
In the "British" world (England, Australia, maybe Canada?), you use the word "holiday" the way Americans use the word "vacation." To Americans, what you're asking is for people to post photos of their old Oldsmobile while on vacation. To us, "holiday" is a day like Christmas, New Year's, Fourth of July, that kind of thing, where you get a day off work with pay. When we're taking time off work or taking our annual two-weeks of vacation to take the kids to Disneyland, we say here that we go "on vacation," not "on holiday."
I'm not saying the American terminology is the better way at all. I'm just saying that most of the users of this site are Americans, and they'll probably wonder what you're talking about. Gotta know your audience!

I could post a book full as I use my car on most all of my vacations and we travel a lot but I don't want to bore you guys with a bunch of old pictures that you have seen on my previous vacation posts. I'll drop a few in here that I like for various reasons...... Tedd

Because I have a 'Holiday' trim, am I already on vacation :P
Here are a few pictures from a trip to a family reunion in 2013. It is in Monroe County, KY on the Cumberland River. The Cumberland River Ferry is KY's only 24/7 state-owned and operated ferry. It is near "Turkey Neck Bend". Kinda cool crossing in the conv.

Tedd, that one on the truck doesn't look so good! But I can't say I have never suffered any breakdowns along the way either.
Mr Shifty that's a cool river crossing, looks like the ferry can only accommodate 2 cars at a time?
76 Regency , good to see you use your car for holidays. Must have been a head spin to find a 4 dr version across the road. Same colour and all.

This thread is so cool.
In 2012 I moved half way across the States in my 1969 Impala. At first I intended to use the Mercedes, but I couldn't get all my personal stuff in the boot. The old Impala had no issues with either the amount of luggage I had nor the overall weight of said luggage.
Man I had a great time on that trip.
Maybe I should do some vacationing in my 1969 Cutlass Supreme?

Lots of nice pictures and places here. Vacations and short trips are great in an Olds and makes the trip more memorable!
I will link one of my old vacation thread to here since I have so many places.

I have neglected to add to it recently but have been many other places also. Need to add to it some day soon!
Of course my Georgia/South Carolina/Blue Ridge Parkway/Smokey Mountain trip can be seen over here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/robsalbum/sets/

Calgary, AB. to Amherst, NS 6000mile+/- round trip
Used to do this trip every year in the 1990's for summer vacation. We would take 3-4weeks and drive cross-country thru Canada or USA for 5 days each way and spend our time at my parents place in Amherst NS. It was a great way to unwind and see the country/people that you never see thru an airplane window.
These pictures are from our 1994 trip when we went thru New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine after stopping in the Toronto area to visit old friends.
Sadly, my parents have both passed away now, and all our trips are local to Alberta.
Sure would like to do this trip again......maybe next year?
