Oldsmobile W-Machine Show Case @ MCACN V

Oldsmobile W-Machine Show Case @ MCACN V

Is there enough interest from Members here to have a W-Machine Show case at MCACN this fall, with one example of every year Coupe and/or Convertible, built by the good Dr.?

I would have a big interest in a W-Machine showcase.

All the shows have been great. I did miss the first show though,I would have loved to see the cars of Hurst.

I think this is an awesome idea and would be a big hit. I believe you would get a lot of top notch W-Machines there from all over the U.S. .

Bob Ashton who runs MCACN supports the posibility of a W-Machine Show case.

He is looking for the best example of every W-Machine ever produced.

If you have a W-Machine that you would like to submit for consideration, please go to www.MCACN.com and submit your information.

What W cars would he consider? I would hope all of them including W32s, W33s, W34s etc. What about some recreations like a W30 wagon, some of them are so nicely done it would be nice to see as well.

All authentic Oldsmobile produced W-Machines.

No tributes, clones, recreations and/or frauds, will be displayed in the show case.

I understand what you are saying about the Wagons and I share your sentiments, however displaying such a car amongst the real McCoys will eventually lead to confusion. Many of the Show case cars get National Media attention.

Vintage W-Machine Race cars, Barn finds and in progess restorations will be considered too!

Good luck authenticating every car.

65s were the first to use the W code, do they count?

If you have ever been to MCACN, you would know that we strive to have the very best authentic examples on display. Sure one can sneak by, now and again.

Getting, known, documented and authentic cars is no easy task, but that is one of the aspects which help make the show so special.

MCACN will consider all W-Machines of all years and styles.

Update;

This one has exceeded our expectations. We have W-Machines signed up from 1966-1971 with what may well be the largest gathering ever under one roof of real-deal, documented W-30 convertibles.

Going to be a HUGE year for Oldsmobiles at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals! In addition to this very special display, we will also have the following Oldsmobiles;

1. The official "Unveiling" of the 1968 Hurst built "Four-A-Nado" 442, which is joining us from AZ.
2. The Great American Muscle Car Giveaway 1970 Rally 350, (real car) with the winner announced right at the show Saturday night. YOU may be taking this car home from the show!
3. Premier showing of the 2014 Great American Muscle Car Giveaway raffle car, currently undergoing restoration by Troy Thornton. (hint; it is an Oldmobile!)
3. An awesome 1968 W-31 in our Original Owners Invitational display.
4. Several first time shown fresh 442's
5. An absolutely incredible 1969 Hurst/Olds in our Barn Finds/Hidden Gems area.

And that is just some of what you will see this year. Doesn't matter what brand you prefer...we have the bases covered!

Please plan on joining us November 23-24. Discount pre-sale tickets are available now through our website and also through our facebook page, which I update nearly every day.

THANKS for the continued support.

That's where I'd say a documented '69 H/O which is missing its factory intake would be better off with a replica intake manifold... at least it looks and functions like the real one.

How about a roll call for members heading to MCACN. Please remember that while the W-Machine show case is going to be a focal point that there will be more than 500 other special cars to check out too, along with numerous vendors and sponsors!

Get on the mailing list @ www.MCACN.com for more info or Visit the face book page.

I'll be attending the show.

Are the raffle tickets for the Rally 350 being sold at the show only? I haven't seen any mention of where to buy tickets.

To purchase tickets call the Traverse City March of Dimes at (231)947-2488 or e-mail gschulz@marchofdimes.com.

Thanks for the interest. This is a very worthy cause and a great car!

Great to hear you'll be joining us, Bill. I look forward to meeting you at the show. I can assure you, Fred did an incredible job on the car, and the display...well that is a whole 'nother story that you'll just have to see!

Just curious... I lived in Chicagoland back in the 80's and 90's and used to attend the Chevy/Vettefest with my Corvettes. Is this the continuation of that production?

Thanks for the question.

Although I was the Show Manager for the Chevy Vettefest for several years, this show is in no way, shape or form affiliated. The CVF show no longer exists and MCACN is an independent show run by a fine group of enthusiast/car nuts that truly "get it" and are devoted to producing the absolute best and highest quality national level show.

If you haven't been to a MCACN show, please join us, and also, please ask those that have been at our previous shows, as they are the best advertising we have.

We also have a link on our website that has various national magazine coverage. Please check that out and see what they say! http://www.mcacn.com/Media.htm

THANKS;

AND...we have great participation from Tennessee people, including Mr. Floyd Garrett who says our show is his absolute favorite!

Hey Rallye Kid, I don't recognize you as being one of our participants in the W-Machines special display. Since the only Rally 350 we have in the show is the one we are giving away Saturday night for the Great American Muscle Car Giveaway March of Dimes raffle, just curious as to who you are.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing you at the show!
