Here is the first in a series of 5 mini art works from last year. We will issue the second art piece at this years show. This mini print is limited but there are still some available for those who want to come to this years show and collect the whole series.

A few members do!
The town gets a kick out of it. The mayor shows up and hands out a trophy. No rules, she just picks the car she likes best. The RCMP are also on hand, and they will hand out a signed framed certificate (signed by the officer) "The Car I'd Most Like To Commandeer".Participants gets a laugh out of that one. Two weeks to go. Hopefully some western members of this forum will show up.
Ken
I hope you have a great show! I've been through Olds quite a few times both in a big truck and a regular four wheeler. I don't know my old girl well enough yet to trust it for that long a trip so maybe will make it another year.

C'mon up and join us! I'll buy the wobblypop! Would be nice to meet you. I know the club has an official photographer now, but I'm planning to take lots of pics too. 13 more days!
I'll see both you guys on the 16th. Pat, maybe next year?
Maybe next year Wes. There's always room...so far. We have a 1937 F37 pre-registered and driving from Kelowna. Just got a few calls from BC yesterday about people driving in. BC should be well represented.
OK. Got back from our car show in the town of Olds yesterday. There were lots of cars that I've never seen before. As usual it rained all week here but on the day of our show it was hot (for us - 80F), dry and not a cloud in the sky. That's the story for our show for the last 18 years.
We had 72 that paid to come to the show, and five, for some reason, didn't make it. So the story on our Rocket Round Up was 72 paid up, 67 showed up. Some participants were dressed up in western gear as the Calgary Stampede is on.
Our club photographer took pictures of all the car and I will post them when he sends them to me.
I'll post a few more details tonight.

The Non-Member Long Distance Award went to a 1969 442 Convertible from Kamloops, BC (438 miles). The Oldest Oldsmobile at Olds went to a 1937 F37 coupe that drove in from Kelowna, BC (429 miles). The Member Long Distance Award went to a 1995 Cutlass Supreme Convertible that drove down from Ft. McMurray, AB (413 miles). He beat a 1968 Hurst/Olds that drove 410 miles. Both members agreed on the winner. The Mayor's Choice went to a 1962 Starfire Convertible from Vernon, BC (396 miles).
50 cars had pre-registered before the show started but only 45 showed up, however another 22 showed up at the gate. For the 50/50 Engine Endurance Contest we had a 1994 Buick with a 3.8 Ltr engine. The oil and coolant were removed when it was dropped off the car ran for 30 minutes and 46 seconds in (80F) weather . The club split $170 with the winner. Got some pictures from some members. Should get more tomorrow.
