we use a product called Bare Metal Foil. its like a very very thin aluminum foil that is adhesive backed. it can be found at most hobby stores or online. you cut out a section of it, peel off the backing, stick it to the model, and trim it with an x-acto knife.

Thanks, I didn't think so.

I saw this picture on-line so I thought to share it with you.

Greeting Jaybird. This photo comes from my Flickr (coconv) photostream set of promotional cars:

Try searching the resin model car makers. R & R, etc. The '63 Cutlass with the white top in the photos was made using a resin kit. A '62 Cutlass plastic kit made by Jo-han was used for the components that don't come with the resin cast pieces. The resin kits will usually have the pieces necessary to take a closely related commercially available kit and turn it into the year and manufacturer of cars that aren't made by the big model manufacturers. Not every car is covered but it's worth your time to check into it for your Omega. The red '62 Cutlass in the photos is a regular Jo-han kit with slight customization.

these remind me of when i was working at fiisher body in lansing. to get to the shop hospital you had to walk down a long hallway, and on the wall was a long showcase with all different olds years and models. wonder who got them when they tore the place down?

The engine is the 215 c.i. aluminumV8 that came with the JoHan kit. The tunnel ram intake and dual quads came from a Gapp & Roush small block Ford Pro Stock drag race car model.

69 HO that I built about 10-12 years ago for a buddy of mine who had a real one. The spoiler came off and he brought it over to me to fix ( never did ). I put this on the shelf in the garage when he dropped it off, and it hasn't moved since. Thought it would be neat to show you guys as it now resembles a very dusty barn find!

Love this thread and with winter approaching, hope to see more Olds models.

G Body

Is anyone producing either a diecast or plastic kit of the 81 to 88 cutlass. Noticed Revell was mentioned in the forum a while back, did anything become of this venture?

No kits at the moment. There are some resin bodies on ebay every now and then.

model contest

Good Morning. I have a couple of oldsmobile models, a 56 2dr hdtp and a 65
cutlass 442. they are both at my home in Nevada(I'm in White Lake Mi until
feb. How long would you be letting this contest run? I have quite a few model
kits, all brands and build them for myself and grandkids. the Oldsmobiles that I have are for ME though. My dad had a 56 hdtp that I really liked, and I currently have 65 Cutlass f85. Im going to build the 56 like my dads was and the cutlass like mine.
