This is not an Olds truck. It is a REO which was started by Ransom Eli Olds after he left Oldsmobile. They built cars but were noted for their trucks. Here is a link.
As Glenn correctly stated the truck is an REO truck, not an Olds. As a follow-up, it appears to be a 1960's REO Gold Comet Tanker. There are several other videos on YouTube featuring the REO Gold Comet Tanker.
When I was a kid in the late 60s, there was an old farmer used to come to town every Saturday to the local IGA supermarket in his old late 30s Oldsmobile pickup truck. My dad said it was a "30s something" so I'm not sure the exact year. First time I'd ever seen one. Not many around. Of course it was only about 30 years old at the time. Couldn't tell if he was delivering produce/eggs or just there to shop. Never saw him in the store when I went with my mom grocery shopping, though.
Thanks for the education, I wasn't aware REO was different than Olds. Either way, trucks of both companies are pretty cool. Would love to see some restored.
The Beverly Hillbillies truck was a 1921 Oldsmobile found in California and modified for the tv show by George Barris. Here's an article describing the truck:
Also, from the article linked above: "Another truck was also created for the series. For an episode in the 1968-69 season, Jethro built a hot rod. Barris based that vehicle on a 1925 Oldsmobile roadster with an Olds 442 engine and other modern components. That truck even had shiny paint."
Note the lettering on the hood!
I think I watched that video a few years back, have to say they didn't give up but those two mini excavators were almost too small for the job. Wonder where that thing ended up and in what condition it is now.
